Lawrence J. "Larry" Bisso, Jr., aged 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida. Born and raised in Woburn, Massachusetts, Larry was the cherished son of the late Lawrence J. Bisso, Sr., and Lillian Russo Bisso. His passion for music and dedication to family left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Woburn High School, Larry served as the Drum Major of the school band, showcasing his leadership and musical talents. He further honed his skills at the Berklee College of Music, becoming a versatile musician proficient in the organ, piano, guitar, accordion, and more. Larry's musical journey spanned over fifteen years, during which he toured nationally as a performer, singer, and songwriter. He also dedicated time to teaching, offering private lessons and instructing at the Tewksbury Music Center.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Larry became a familiar face in Rochester, NH, as a local TV personality. His engaging presence and commitment to the community endeared him to many residents. After retiring from his music career, Larry transitioned into the automobile industry, taking on roles such as management consultant, general manager, and finance manager across several dealerships. Despite this career shift, his love for music remained a central part of his life.
Larry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and dog lover. He is survived by his son, Michael C. Bisso, and daughter-in-law Heidi Bisso of Tewksbury, along with their daughters, Ashlyn and Mia. His sister, Maureen Bisso of Methuen, also mourns his passing. Additionally, Larry leaves behind his son, Lawrence J. Bisso, III, of Westford, his wife, Holly, and their children, Julia, Jenna, and Sam. He will be fondly remembered by numerous cousins and friends.
An ardent supporter of the Red Sox and Patriots, Larry cherished discussing sports with his family and cheering on his sons during their athletic pursuits. His generous spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private service will be held by the family to honor Larry's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Woburn High School Band Program, reflecting his enduring passion for music and education.
As Rochester, NH, continues to celebrate community events like the recent Lilac Family Fun Festival and upcoming performances at the Rochester Opera House, residents are reminded of the vibrant cultural scene that Larry once contributed to. His legacy lives on in the music and community spirit he so dearly loved. |
