Celebrating the Life of Kathleen Marie Hubertz |
A Devoted Nurse, Cherished Mother, and Beloved Community Member |
Kathleen Marie Hubertz, born on November 17, 1954, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Rochester, NH.
For 45 years, Kathleen dedicated herself as a registered nurse, bringing joy and hope to every patient and resident under her care.
Her compassionate touch left an indelible mark on the Rochester community.
Active in the Meadaboro Community Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher and led a secret pal group, often donning homemade costumes to surprise and delight attendees.
As a mother, Kathleen filled her family's life with adventure, from amusement park visits to trips to Florida.
She embraced her son Curtis's friends, Peter and Matt, as her own, treating them like honorary sons.
In adulthood, Kathleen, Curtis, and his wife—whom she lovingly regarded as a daughter—shared countless experiences at concerts, plays, museums, and amusement parks.
As a grandmother, she ensured her grandchildren, Magnolia and Henry, enjoyed the same enriching experiences.
During challenging financial times, Kathleen's sacrifices and generosity made her family feel middle-class, even when resources were scarce.
Despite battling diabetes for thirty years and developing Parkinson's disease three years ago, Kathleen remained independent, with her son's support, avoiding long-term care facilities.
She passed away peacefully in her favorite chair.
Kathleen was the daughter of Henry and Eleanor Lewis, sister to Patricia Houle, and aunt to Timothy and Michael Purvis and Jenny McManus.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Hubertz, and grandchildren, Magnolia and Henry Hubertz.
She was like a mother to Marjorie Lougee and held a special bond with Peter Leavitt and Matt Beal, along with every resident she cared for as a nurse and countless coworkers.
Above all, Kathleen was a spiritual and religious leader, a devoted daughter of God.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Meadaboro Community Church in Kathleen's memory.
Services will be held at the church on July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
As Rochester continues to grow, with projects like the Spaulding High School Athletic Fields Project and new housing developments, Kathleen's legacy of compassion and community involvement remains a guiding light for all. |
