Exclusive

Claire Theresa Lemay, aged 86, peacefully passed away on July 19, 2025, in Rochester, NH, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Napoleon "Paul" and Kilda (Tessier) Lemay, Claire's life was a testament to faith, service, and unwavering generosity.

Her profound devotion to the Lord guided every aspect of her life. A longtime member of Holy Rosary Parish and later St. Mary's Parish in Rochester, Claire also participated actively in the Holy Cross Association. She often expressed gratitude with her cherished phrase, "Thank God for God."

Claire's professional journey was as diverse as it was inspiring. Beginning as a third-grade teacher at Holy Rosary School, she felt a higher calling and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving honorably as a nurse for many years. Her career also included roles in the insurance sector and at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Fluent in both English and Canadian French, Claire's linguistic skills enriched her interactions and travels.

Her military service afforded her opportunities to explore the world, with cherished memories from Germany and Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. Even after retirement, Claire's passion for travel persisted, leading her to earn a degree in Travel and Tourism and embark on cross-country adventures across the United States.

Claire's zest for life was evident in her love for dining out, spending quality time with family and friends, and her fondness for "The Sound of Music," often humming its melodies. Though she had no children of her own, her nurturing spirit earned her the affectionate title of 'Aunt Claire,' always ready to offer support and care to her extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Richard, and her sister Priscilla Barquero. Claire is survived by nephews Joel Dupre and Richy; nieces Terrie and Vicky; grandnieces Ashley and Jade; grandnephews Collin and Merrick; great-grandnieces Aurora and Kynley; great-grandnephews Tyshawn and Chance; and numerous beloved friends and additional family members.

Known for her candid nature, Claire's frankness was always accompanied by a forgiving and generous heart. Her selfless love and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services:
